Caroline Dream clown directions

“Entre Sueños” tells the story of Dalia, a young woman in search of her deepest desires. In the clown world she inhabits, the lines between dreams and reality are blurred. Is she sleep walking or awake in her dreams?

The bewitching visions and the frightening nightmares she navigates, force her to face her fears and take steps to make her dreams come true. Little by little, she discovers what her true goal really is; to be present to the most important and beautiful things she already has.

It was a pleasure to create my first uni-personal show with Caroline. I think it’s magical and wonderful all that she is able to shape in a show; both absurd and profound at the same time. Also, her ability to get the best out of me for each the scene. She is an incredible director.

A messenger shows up to deliver some packages to a circus. He must deliver them to Monsieur Loyal, the owner. But Monsieur Loyal has left, and while the clown waits for him to return, opening the packages is just too much of a temptation.

Mon Petit Cirque is a show by the Moi Jordana Company, for all audiences, full of humor, surprises and circus skills.
Caroline has thrown herself into the creation, fulfilling to the letter a 100%. commitment. At all times she was contributing to the show; ideas, gags and her extensive knowledge. In an assertive, respectful and loving way. It has been an extraordinary journey in the best company. Thank you Caroline for your great work!

Cia Express, formed by Mexican Estefanía Flores and Swiss Jannick Lüthi, display a myriad of skills in a continuous transition from one absurdity to another. In their show Inkógnito, acrobatics, juggling or dance tell a story of complicity between two characters eager to play.

Detectives with poor investigative skills or human piñatas suspended by their hair; any excuse is good to get laughs and to bring circus to the most diverse audiences possible.

Caroline has fantastic ideas and a very good eye to quickly get to what the scene or the actor needs. Thanks to her long experience, she has a great repertoire of tools and exercises. We loved working with her.

Tired of her erratic life experience, a clown seeks her greatest desire, spiritual awakening. To do so, she relies on her lucid intuition and the instructions of other enlightened beings in the world.

The spectators will witness a journey full of imagination, artistry, nonsense and crazy poetics.

I couldn’t be more grateful. Creating material in clown is a continuous challenge requiring an enormous dosis of creativity. Caroline makes that most difficult thing possible. She follows you in your dream and you fly so much higher.

Pa que me invitas” tenderly observes all the things we try to throw away. Our broken pieces, the feelings that overwhelm us, and the chaotic reality of our lives. This show offers us a fresh perspective, where “garbage”, when reformulated or recycled, serves to heal our wounds and transform our lives.

It’s a show that awakens emotions while immersing us in the wonderful universe of laughter and clown reflections.

Caroline Dream’s direction distances Sergio Plou’s text from the intellectualization of art and fertilizes it with a good dose of accidents to provoke many silly occurances and moments of aesthetic beauty, until the broken pieces of “reality garbage” harmonize in the happy ending of a melody that we would all like to star in.

Review of “Inesperado” on the Oficio Crítico blog by Cristopher Cruzado

The director understands perfectly that the public observes a stage, so she takes advantage of it many times. Thus she gives us a lesson on this issue; on the convention of realism within the theatre, that other artists normally over-respect through creating limits or borders. Breaking the rules of physics is valid in a comedy, and sometimes, also in life itself.

Simple, practical, effective and sincere, no more, no less, would be the words to sum up a show that has clearly been thought through and rehearsed with rigor. Not only with the aim of making people laugh, but to help spectators take the unexpected events of everyday life in a more positive way.

Working with Caroline on Inesperado and our two shorter clown numbers – La Promesa and La Receta – has been a journey full of learning. She is very generous and has been able to capture each of the intentions we had on stage to turn them into very funny stories, finding comedy in each action.
